Overdue

It is a little overdue for a WtS update. Here are a few things that we wanted to let you know!

First, we’d like to thank everyone that was able to make a contribution in 2011. We sent out all the giving statements at the end of January. We trust that they were faultless when you received them since we didn’t hear back from you.

Financially:
We are up to over $54,000, which is more than 40% of the way to our goal. We are still seeking monthly supporters. We believe the number that God has given us to reach is $8,000 a month, but we were inaccurate on the timing. God is reminding us that this is His thing and not ours. I ask you to please consider becoming a monthly supporter.

Recently:
One of our board members decided to step down due to recent family issues that have been weighing heavily on them. We are now in the process of finding someone to fill that position. We need someone who is particularly skilled either as a lawyer, CPA or just has experience with non-profit’s and business plans. If you or someone you know is interested let us know and we will set up an interview.

Coming up:
I am flying to Malawi on the 29th of this month (Which happens to be my birthday :)) and will be there until April 8th. The goal will be to: open a bank account, get a survey of the land and blueprints of the buildings, finalize the ownership of the land and drill a well on the land, set up the WtS non-governmental status (NGO), and initiate the creating of the bricks. Please pray that all of these things come together.

Save the Date:
On May 5th, WtS is hosting a “Biblical Justice” trivial night fundraiser. We would love for you to be there and we would love for you to bring people to your table. The event will begin at 7 pm. Also be thinking about potential silent auction items you may be able to contribute or know of a business that could. Be looking for more information to follow.

Sincerely,
David Peterka

P.S. We just released a video showing the main WtS highlights from the last year. I’d like to challenge you to share this video on Facebook and Twitter, but also go beyond that and specifically think of one person who you believe would be compelled by the story of WtS. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lv7G3pbdnSs
